sarah + matt wedding at the branford house in groton

'How is that a job??' This question was asked of my by Sarah's adorable little brother, who quickly became my sidekick and protege during her wedding. He had his very own digital camera and quickly explained his strategy on how he captures images. I took copious notes as he got everyone to flash their best smiles and give him their all! I had explained to him how I do what I love, I shoot events and people that I quickly come to care a lot about- I am surrounded by love, emotion, beautiful details, high energy- and I just get to spin around and capture this all! He is nine years old, by the way! This is when he asks me 'How is that a job?' Exactly. How is this a job?? I love it! Now, Sarah & Matt. Well, they live out of the country so they booked me over the internet with out ever meeting me (also on the high recommendation of her brother Bobby who worked at Mayor Mike's for years!) So the first time we met was the week of their wedding at my studio to go over all of the details and time line etc.- I felt like we clicked right away and completely felt how in love they were and how happy there were to get married. On their wedding day at the Branford House, my second that weekend in the same place!! I felt like part of the family- her friends and family just accepted me and Dominique in the fold, we laughed, (I cried- several times) it was better than cats. I was fraught with so much emotion because their friends and family hadn't seen them for years and then they were leaving in a few days for a few more years- so this fact sat with me all night and made me so super sad! There was so much emotion, so much love their that day. It was amazing and beautiful and I am ever the better for being right in the thick of it! You guys were all truly amazing, thank you for letting me be there with you all!!

Miss Carla, you rock. I love the Branford House first off. Secondly, how amazing is that question from that little guy? Maybe when we're in wheel chairs he'll be doing what WE do!
And you WORK that shoe positioning hanging on the wall!!!!

That first image is the officiant, Matt's sister, signing the marriage certificate! I am sure glad you like hearing about it, because I feel like I can talk about shooting 24/7!! ;)

I can not even think of enough new creative ways to say wow! I love the one with the sailboat in the background and the veil in the wind. Tons of awewome shots. You have such a unique eye. What a great idea to put the shoes on the wall. How did you balance them?
