melina + zak wedding at the villge at boulder ridge barkhamsted ct

Yesterday was a crazy rainy morning that yielded a beautiful overcast day for Melina & Zak to be married on! Even though it was pouring when I got to the salon, Melina was so super relaxed, thanks to her early morning pre-salon massage! She highly suggests other brides do this, it kept her super calm and relaxed ALL day. Zak & Melina are the cutest couple and both have such incredibly welcoming families, I was truly honored to be a part of such an emotional and special day! Their venue, The Village at Boulder Ridge in Barkhampsted was THE ABSOLUTE BEST, hands down, in how they treated me and my staff. Everyone was so accommodating and helpful and went out of their way to make up feel at home and part of a team in working to make Zak & Melina's day be the best it could be! Thanks Kevin and staff! The flowers, which were amazing, were done by TK Floral Designs in Rocky Hill. Here are a few of my favorites from yesterday that I couldn't wait to share! The slideshow will be up soon!!

It is obvious that it is not a job for you, but a passion which yields beauty, style and elegance. Your creativity and effort surpass explanation. To say that a picture is worth a thousand words, clearly translates into stories with the memories you capture. Excellence... Brilliance...

Wow, I don't know what to say! I am so thankful for feedback like that, and so greatful that you can so clearly see what it is that I am trying to do for my clients- it is not 'just a wedding' and I am not 'just a wedding photographer!' Thank you for taking the time to post!

My daughter spent many many hours on line looking for the right photographer as she viewed it as one of the most important choices for her wedding day. When I first heard the name Carla I did not know the impact she would make on me. When I first met her it did not take long to realize what a special person she is. That thought just grew and grew. Wow, what a lady. I wish a camera was on Carla from time to time as those shots would show the passion and love she has for photography. Just a photographer she is not. I thank you Carla for making Melina and Zak’s day all that it can be with your incredible creativity, talent and above all your heart and soul.

Terri- I have never had someone's comments absolutely blow me away like yours did! I am sitting here with tears in my eyes and gratitude in my heart for having been chosen by your family to be able to be truly let in! You were all so open and willing to share with me, and it shows in the images that we created together! I cannot wait to share them all with you and your family! Thank you so much for your kind words!

Your ability to capture the beauty of this special day is amazing. Zak and Melina are lucky to be able to have this amazing photography to add to their memories of an unforgetable day! The picture of the Bride and Groom in front of the fireplace is one that only a truly passionate photographer could have capture at just that magical moment.

these are fantastic. You should really be beaming over some of these great shots. I love the one where the dress looks like it was picked up with the wind to show the shoes with the guys shoes in the back. Wonderful stuff. Great job. I am sure they were thrilled.

Carla, I can't even begin to tell you how much you impacted what was one of the most incredible days of my life...You were like a long lost family member who couldn't wait to partake in the days festivities by sharing your gift of photography with all of us. You captured Zak's smiles and Melina's beauty beyond comprehension. We loved having you and your other photographers spend the day/evening with us, and can't wait for more. Watching you capture everyones enthusiasm and love that day was a memory I too will never forget, and now your pictures will make sharing even more special than the words I sometimes don't feel are strong enough. Thank you for taking the time to get to know Zak & Melina, because your caring to do that is evident in the pictures you have shared thus far. You are a wonderful human being, and thank you for sharing your gifts with our families :)
