becky + vince wedding at the candlewood inn

On the 24th, the second of my double header weekend was the super detail-oriented Vince & Becky. They had their ceremony and reception at the beautiful Candlewood Inn in Brookfield right by the lake. We had the best day, nice and not too humid- the perfect wedding day weather! Becky and Vince are so thoughtful and sweet and SO into details! Well, Becky will be the first to tell you it's Vince! He is so crazy- he even redid the floor plan in CAD to layout their tables to list where people were sitting! He spent HOURS tying knot after knot to adorn the tables in true sailor's knots- to tie his own knot! They had a beach theme (they were my Groton Long Point engagement shoot way back) and my engagement / guest book fit in beautifully! Their place cards were sand dollars in a tray of sand with the guests name on them; at each table they had a piece of what looked like driftwood with a beach that was significant to someone at the table hand burned in by Vince (I think) set in sand they collected from a family's place on the beach in Maine! They are so thoughtful for the vendor's table they burned one up that read 'Long Point' just for me- as this was not only where our shoot was but where I had gotten married! (unfortunately someone else snagged it...:( During one of our meetings we talked about how they wanted to get a really nice sunset picture on the lake- I think what I got will make them happy! I love it! Enjoy!

Beautiful work carla! I was in love with the sunset shots by the lake before I read your entry- I'm sure they'll be more than thrilled. Were they making one the different colored sand layered thingys? very cool photo too. do you know who snagged your driftwood- I'll hunt them down?

I should do the same for Steve using the name of the place he got marri- oh wait he's not married. so be it, I'll just give him a transformers poster.

Jeff- LOL! You could give him a Voltron poster, or a Spider-Man poster, or a Dork of the Year poster! ;)

Amazed again. Your pics are a work of art. Loved the pics in the sunset.

I love shooting weddings with a theme. So much funner.

I had one bride and groom do some sand art. It was a blending of the families kinda thing. Pretty cool.
