trash talking with .com

Thursday brought some serious rain to my little old Hartford area- enough to spoil our original plan for our inaugural trash the dress shoot with the awesome Mary & Justin, which I am going to still do so I won't divulge that- but enough to throw Stevedepino.com and I for a loop- it was quite comedic actually, watching us pace around, get distracted by tornado warnings (!) turned out to be a false alarm, thankfully- to try and re-focus ourselves. We decided to go with the deluge and many flooded areas that resulted and we had so much fun! Tell me you don't love our bridal party shot! (these were just curious onlookers who we decided to add when we wrapped up!) We decided to end on our food fight, because well, then the dress would be totally trashed! It was super fun to watch Mary & Justin go nuts with the toppings- and it created some really cool detail shots for us! Steve and I were both totally amped up, for a variety of reasons, one being this was our first trash session; the other being that our subjects are photographers themselves and then that their photographer for their October wedding is the one and only David Jay...no pressure! As usual we had a blast, laughed more than ever and created some awesome stuff!

well I think your self-timer has a career goddamnit! I know you said you had other plans but that rain/mini-flood worked out for you guys!

I know, right? I sometimes find myself harboring feelings of jealousy and inadequacy when I am around my self timer. I only let it play, like, sometimes.

And the fact that my self timer exposes me for the soccer mom that I so totally am! I need some style! I look like I was just some random person who just jumped in the shot- I was dropping my kid off for little league and was all like, hey Mr. Stylish Photogrpaher Man, can Mommy take her picture with you cool people?? :P

hahaha- carla stop being hard on yourself. let people think you're a random soccer mom. never underestimate being underestimated because then people see your work and say "Holy shit! You are so NOT a random soccer mom. You are a badass mofo-ing photographer!" and believe me parents would say "mofo-ing"

Hey Nikki- They are not standing! They are on their knees! Steve had the idea of setting that one up to make it look like it, cool, huh?
